Yoga Q and A

Updated: Nov 9, 2020

Few questions I often get from my followers and @yogazamene group members:

ā“How many times a week do I need to practice yoga to have all the benefits?

āœ… I would say at least 2, BUT as a general rule of thumb, to get the most of it, around 3-5 times a week. And itā€™s doable! How? Read next Q&A. It gives you adequate time for rest which is crucial to recover, get stronger and maintain your health.

ā“ How many minutes of yoga a day is enough?

āœ… If you practice yoga 75 minutes 2 or 3 times a week while supervised by your yoga teacher, additional 20-minutes Morning yoga will bring you fresh start of the day and ensure all benefits yoga can bring.

ā“ Can I lose weight by doing yoga?

āœ… You can, BUT, keep in mind that your body weight depends more on what you EAT, also on your HORMONAL status and on how much WATER your body retains (especially in women). Also, you CAN gain muscle at the same time as you LOSE fat!

This means that your weight may REMAIN the same but as a result of proper diet and proper exercise, the body will "replace" the fat weight to muscle.
